We are a Local of the New Jersey
State Policemen’s Benevolent Association And the legally recognized
bargaining Unit for the rank and file members of the Monmouth County
Sheriff's Office, Corrections Division.
The membership of PBA 240 consists of over three hundred highly trained, educated professional Correctional Officers that operate the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. The Monmouth County Correctional Institution has an occupancy rating of 1,328 inmates. The Monmouth County Correctional Institution maintains national accreditation, and is a leader for standards to follow for correctional facilities all over the country.
Officers receive extensive continuous training throughout the year in order to maintain the high standards that are set in order for the facility to maintain national accreditation. We are a diverse group of Officers, with education levels from beginning college up to advanced degrees. Many of our members received specialized training in the military, and some continue specialized training as part of our Emergency Response Team. Many of our members have served, and continue to serve our country in the Armed Forces.
Many of our members volunteer in the communities they live in as Fireman, and Emergency Medical Technicians. Many of our members are involved in coaching and mentoring youth groups in communities all over Monmouth County. As an organization we donate time and money to organizations for Special Olympics, Autism awareness, Breast Cancer Awareness, Emanuel Cancer Foundation, The Arc of Monmouth County, The Ronald McDonald House, and Juvenile Diabetes. We also conduct toy, and food drives during the holiday season for needy families and shelters, for battered women in Monmouth County.
We have Officers available to speak to youth groups, schools, camps, Church organizations, or any other group of the community that would like to learn more about whom we are, and what we do.
